We seek to partner with others to collaborate in bringing to the industry the safest, most efficient and cost effective systems possible.
Skyline Solutions provides the methods of how to bring low impact logging to public lands. The public wants to see sustainable logging performed in its national forests and we want to fulfill that need with a cost competitive alternative for National Forest Service Managers in their Stewardship treatments. Public and Environmental groups will be more receptive to operations being completed in a certifiably low impact way. For decades environmental concerns have stood in the way of reliable harvesting on public lands and we seek to bring about compromise that both sides can feel good about.
We are building relationships with those in the Sustainable Forestry and Environmental Stewardship fields. Standards are still being developed for exactly what it means to be Green/Sustainable in forestry in the US. Skyline Solutions aims to lead the way towards truly environmentally sound timber harvesting. We demonstrate that logging can be both good for local economies and as a truly renewable resource, and at the same time improving overall forest health.
This type of Green/Sustainable logging is already being practiced on large scale in New Zealand and Switzerland and we will work with operations in those regions to learn from their experience to implement existing practices here in North America. Swiss companies have thoroughly developed the equipment and the techniques needed to efficiently perform these types of forestry treatments. We are working closely with Wyssen, a leader in sky crane technologies, for the best equipment and training. Also, we want to bring together a network of other companies already using similar Highline Cable Yarding equipment and techniques in Colorado and western US.
Academic Institutions such as Oregon State University and Virginia Tech have active programs that are working to further develop these methods and bring them into use more in American forestry. We will be working closely with these institutions to better understand and utilize this equipment. Also to offer our knowledge of Rigging and Rope Access systems and hopefully bring better innovations to further evolve this industry.
